Rolando G. Murillo (Murillo Design) has been working as an award-winning designer and brand specialist for over 15 years. As a graduate (BFA) of Southwest Texas State University’’s nationally recognized Communication Design program, he was awarded the Best of Show student award in 1998 by the prestigious Dallas Society of Visual Communications. Since then, Rolando has cultivated his expertise and experience at some of the most highly regarded branding agencies in the country. Currently, he is the managing principal at Murillo Design, Inc. in San Antonio, TX. His passion for design extends beyond the corporate world. He has taught Communication Design at Texas State University – San Marcos and San Antonio College (where he is a member of the Visual Arts and Technology Department’s professional advisory board).His work has been published in dozens of books and publications, and is recognized for its innovation by industry leaders such Communication Arts, PRINT, Graphis, LogoLounge, The Art Director’s Club of New York, Best of the Best – Europe, The Dallas Society of Visual Communications, The American Advertising Federation, The Art Directors Club of Houston and the AIGA. His work has also been recently featured in Entrepreneur Magazine and the CBS Sunday Morning show.In 2010, he co-founded the San Antonio’s AIGA chapter and served as its first president. And in 2011, he co-founded Visual Pulp to convey (to the masses) the culturally relevant role that graphic design plays in the communities it serves.
